Curl 101
When it comes to lash extensions, Cashmere Lashes are the best on the market. Not only are they soft, light, and gorgeous, but they also come in the widest variety of curls. Not sure what the difference is between curls, or when to use which curl? We’ve got you covered.
B-Curl
B-Curl lash extensions are slightly curled lash extensions. Imagine a fairly straight lash that lifts at the end, and that’s a B-Curl. For clients looking for natural, wispy, or natural lashes, reach for the B-Curl. You can use a B-Curl lash to give clients volume and fullness, but B-Curls do not necessarily result in a more open-eye look and they’re not ideal for a client looking for glam or drama.
C-Curl
C-Curls are aptly named after the letter C. They’re a circular fully curled lash extension. A C-Curl is pretty universally flattering for all eye sizes and shapes and results in a nice open look. The reason the C-Curl is so flattering, and the most popular, is that it follows most client’s natural lash curl. A C-Curl would be perfect for a client looking for an open eye, lifted lash look without being over-the-top glam.
D-Curl
The D in D-Curl stands for Drama! In reality, the D-curl is named such due to the big, round curl in the capital letter D. But, when using D-Curls, there’s no shortage of drama, glamour, and volume. A D-Curl lash is a statement maker. Use a D-Curl for clients who want their lashes to look glamourous. If your client says, “make me look like a Kardashian,” get the D-Curls ready.
L+D Curl
Before describing the very popular L+ series of lash extensions, it’s important to understand what the L alone represents. Any lash bearing an L is completely flat for about the first third of the extension, then, depending on the curl, the middle and lash tip are both curled. The extension bears a resemblance to a capital letter L. In the case of an L +D-Curl, the curled portion of the lash is the same as a D-Curl but differs from a traditional C-Curl in that it’s got a very flat base.
The L+D Curl is perfect for clients with very straight lashes who want a very open eye, and a dramatic curl. The L+D-Curl will provide a very glamorous look.
L+C Curl
Like the L+D-Curl, the L+C-Curl has a flat base with a curled tip. The curl is the same as a C-Curl and isn’t quite as dramatic as an L+D-Curl. However, an L+C-Curl lash extension is a great option for clients with straight lashes who still want a curl, and they’re excellent for creating make-up-ready looks.
Other Curls
There a few less popular curls that you may want to try, such as:
· J-Curls: very natural and gentle curled lash extension, used only for natural understated looks
· DD or CC: Like C and D-Curls, but even more extreme
· L-Curls: An L-Curl without a C or D-Curl is a lot like the letter L, and sticks straight up
