The Power of Social Media

What if I told you that the most powerful marketing tool was available to you at almost no cost? I bet you think I am going to tell you it’s social media, right? Not quite.

Social media is powerful, but there’s something else that’s pure marketing gold – and it’s totally free. Still can’t guess?

It’s you.

Brand Awareness

Brand awareness is the “extent to which consumers are familiar with the distinctive qualities or image of a particular brand of goods or service.” In other words, it means that when clients (or anyone!) think about lash extensions, they automatically think of YOU.

When they see your company colours, they think of YOU. When they see a full fluffy set of lashes on the cashier at the grocery store, they think of YOU, and when a friend tells them they want to try lash extensions, they think of YOU. They refer you. And then the cycle of building that brand awareness starts all over again with that new client.

Of course, social media is extremely helpful in helping to get the powerful message of YOU out there in the world! And that’s where the power of social media comes into your overall branding strategy.

Build Brand Awareness Using the Power of Social Media

Using social media increases brand awareness because it gives your company logo, colours, and mission a public platform from which to project. It’s also a great place to post photos, host contests, list services, and more! To make the maximum impact, consider these tips:

Stay Fresh

Social media is not a one-and-done undertaking. Keep a schedule so that you’re posting new content (or refreshing existing content) frequently. You should also frequently review older content to ensure it’s still reflective of your brand. Keep clients coming back by always offering something new!

Stay Relevant

Resist the urge to use your platform to boost your new Tupperware, Tote bag, kitchenware, or spice MLM. People associate your brand with all things lashes – don’t confuse them. If you have a true entrepreneurial spirit and have several businesses – know that we see you and respect the hustle. But we recommended separate social media accounts for your various ventures.

Consistency is Key

Social media is hot, it’s everywhere, and it’s widely accessible. It’s also a flooded market, meaning there are MANY platforms. Don’t use them all. Choose two or three that align with your business goals and tend to attract the clientele you’re speaking to. Once you settle on the platforms you want to use, ensure that you’re messaging across all of them is consistent.

#Hashtag it up!

There’s magic in a good hashtag. Use relevant keywords, hashtags, and tags to increase the number of views and hits your social media posts & stories get.

Glam Squad Pics

Post as many photos as possible. The more people see your great work, the more they’ll clamour for your next appointment opening. Before/after photos are especially impactful. Don’t forget to get clients’ permission to post photos when they sign the initial waiver.

To Tell a Story, or To NOT Tell a Story

Many media platforms have a story option along with posts. Before choosing which to use, remember that posts live forever, and stories usually have a 24-hour shelf-life. So, keep the good stuff for posts! Photos, accomplishments, business hours, logos, and customer reviews (the glowing ones, of course!) all make great posts and have the longevity required to stay there forever. Stories are great for fun, light content, contests, and messages that you know will be irrelevant in 24-48 hours.
