Your lash room is more than just a room! It’s a place for clients to get pampered, it’s your workplace, and it’s a storage place for all of your lash tools and value-added marketing swag. Because your lash room serves many purposes, it’s important that you have it stocked with all of the necessities and as many nice-to-haves as possible.
Your Lash Room: The Necessities
When it comes to the necessities, consider two basic types: tools and equipment. Necessities are what you need in your lash room to run a successful and safe lash extension business.
Some examples of tools and equipment you need in your lash room include:
· Sterilizers and/or an autoclave
· Scissors
· Tweezers
· Magnified glasses
· Tissue
· Eye pads
· Jade stones and/or glue rings
· Nano mister or nebulizer
· Covered waste baskets
· Massage bed
· Proper lighting, including a spotlight
· Chair or wheeled stool
· Wheeled table
Your Lash Room: The Nice-to-Haves
When your lash room is fully stocked with the necessities, it’s time to think about the nice-to-haves. A nice-to-have is something that enhances the client experience. It’s what takes your lash room from basic to spa-like – a place that clients can’t wait to come back to!
Blankets, Pillows, and Heating Pads
When your client lays on the massage bed, offer them a blanket and pillow. Let them get comfortable. To enhance the spa experience, offer a heating pad for their feet or back – they’ll love it! Lash room a little cool? Consider a heated blanket – your clients won’t want to leave, and they’ll be clamouring to come back.
Mirrors and Fancy Lighting
Having a hand-held mirror available so clients can check out their lashes is a necessity. Having a large, statement-making framed mirror boosts that wow factor when they’re checking themselves out. Put up a few mirrors and watch your client after their service – I bet they can’t stop stealing glances at themselves. Further enhance your mounted mirrors with some fancy lighting such as colour-changing LEDs or twinkle lights.
Décor
Having some flashy wall décor, a modern accent wall, or some plants may each add pizazz to your lash room! Clients will get a salon feel from your lash room if your décor matches your unique brand.
Toiletries
Ensure that when your client visits the bathroom the spa feel doesn’t end. Be sure that there’s lots of tissue and TP on hand! Add a lightly scented hand soap and some lux towels.
Candles, Diffusers, and Wax Melts
Nothing says spa experience like a soft scent in the air. You can make your space more inviting by lighting a candle, putting a few drops of essential oil in a diffuser, or melting some scented wax in a wax melter. When it comes to scents, remember less is more. Try to use soft, relaxing scents. Be cognizant of clients with scent sensitivities.
Music
Use music to set a mood! You can find some relaxing spa-like sounds, set it to the local pop station, or create a customized playlist of your own. If possible, make an aux cord and speaker available and let your clients play DJ!
Treats
Make candy, mint, and gum (bonus points if it’s branded!) available to your clients before and after their appointment. They’ll leave feeling refreshed and absolutely stunning.
